About Dr. Christensen
Dr. Susan Christensen’s family has been dedicated to serving the dental needs of Lincoln since 1922, when her grandfather, Dr. Merrit Pedersen, established the family dental practice. Susan's father, Dr. Harold "Ted" Maude, joined Dr. Pedersen in 1958. Then, after her graduation from the University of Nebraska’s College of Dentistry in 1981, she joined her father in the family practice, and became the sole practitioner in 1996. It's still very much a family affair, though; Dr. Maude still stops by to check on his former patients and their families.
From the beginning, Dr. Christensen was instilled with the same values that were important to her grandfather so many years ago. She learned that comfortable, well-informed patients are happy patients. She strives to provide quality care by taking the time to understand the needs of her patients and making sure that all their questions and concerns have been addressed. Dr. Christensen's skilled staff has over 30 years of combined experience; their seasoned professionalism is an invaluable asset to the practice.
Understanding that ongoing dialogue with her professional peers is an integral part of staying current, Dr. Susan Christensen is a member of the following associations:
- American Dental Association
- Nebraska Dental Association
- Lincoln, Nebraska Dental Association
- Academy of General Dentists
- American Association of Women Dentists
- The Capitol City Study Club
Dr. Christensen is married and has three sons. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and riding horses in the equestrian sport of cutting. She supports education through her membership in the national committee on college scholarships for the National Cutting Horse Association.
Dr. Christensen is enthusiastic about remaining current with contemporary techniques and new technology. For example, she is certified in Invisalign®, a revolutionary alternative to traditional braces. Dr. Christensen is also proud to offer her patients cosmetic-quality crowns and implants, made right in the office with a CEREC machine. You can be sure that whether the solution to your situation is high-tech or more traditional, Dr. Christensen will take the time to discuss with you all your options to determine the best approach.
