“In-Chair” Entertainment
Sometimes the most difficult part of a dental visit is combating the boredom of sitting still while the dentist is treating your teeth. At the office of Susan Christensen, you can choose from a selection of movies to watch during your cleaning or restorative procedure. If you wish, you may bring your own movie to watch or music CD to listen to. Your dental work will be finished before you know it!

Digital X-Rays
Dr. Christensen is always looking for new technology that provides benefits to her patients. Digital x-rays are no exception; they are safer and more efficient than traditional x-rays for several reasons:
- No film that needs time to develop
- No caustic developing chemicals in the office
- Nearly immediate results that can be viewed by both the doctor and the patient
- Images can be manipulated by the doctor for a better view
- Exposes patient to up to 90% less radiation

Children’s Dentistry
With three boys of her own, Dr. Christensen knows how hard it can be to get kids to even go to the dentist in the first place. She and her staff are considerate of the very valid and overwhelming fears that some children have about going to the dentist, and take extra care to make them feel acknowledged and in control of their situation. We’ve just opened up a Kid’s Corner in our waiting room as an extra touch to make our littlest patients feel welcome.

Migraines and TMJ Pain
Millions of Americans suffer from chronic headaches, migraines, and TMJ (temporo-mandibular joint) pain. Often, they try to treat it using pain medication; although medication may sooth pain temporarily, it does not prevent the debilitating pain from returning.

Canker Sores
Although the exact causes of canker sores are not clear, the pain they cause is very real indeed. Some people experience canker sore pain that is bad enough for them to be unable to eat, drink, or talk without extreme difficulty. Dr. Christensen is glad to provide her patients with an effective medication for canker sores, called Debacterol®. Applied directly to the sore with a swab, Debacterol® works to stop pain, seal the damaged tissue, sterilize the area, and aid in healing.

Cold Sores
It is estimated that between 50 and 80 percent of people in the United States suffer from cold sores. Because the virus that causes cold sores, herpes simplex 1, is very contagious and spread through physical contact, many people contract the virus when they are kissed by friends or relatives as children.
There is no cure for the herpes simplex 1 virus; however, it is possible to minimize the discomfort and healing time of cold sores. We offer cold sore treatment in the form of Zovirax®, a cream that is applied directly to the sore. Zovirax® works best when it is applied early in the development cycle of the cold sore, as it can greatly reduce the severity and duration of the sore.
